Mindful Movement Musings on World Meditation Day

As you probably know, the dictionary definition of to meditate is to focus one's mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation.

If you know me, you'll probably know that I'm generally a busy bee 🐝 and very often doing rather than focusing on being! This is why for me a mindful movement practice, such as Pilates, Yoga or something else is so important. 🧘‍β™‚οΈπŸ§˜‍♀️ You're so fully focused on co-ordination of your breath, alignment, possibly engagement of your centre as well as a movement pattern so this hopefully gives you enough to think about and a much needed opportunity to have a much needed break from the constant chatter buzzing around in your mind, or if this just me??!! 

Whatever practice calls you it's so important to give yourself a chance to connect mind and body and focus your attention on yourself, your full and wide breath, how your body feels and where you may be holding tension to give yourself an opportunity to release it! Tune in and listen!πŸ‘‚

Obviously recent times have been challenging for all of us and some days are easier than others. It has given me the opportunity to appreciate the simple pleasures in life and being grateful for my boys and our home and taking time to appreciate the beauty of nature in our garden and nearby on our local excursions! Yesterday I was so excited to see one of our first roses this year in bloom! Swipe if you'd like to see it! 🌹
